Welcome to Buda's world. As I age, it seems my focus ages too. In the old days, you would find Lil' Red and I ripping around the state, attending runs and rallies all over. We had some great times, met some great people, and took part in many historical Texas Biker events. We even promoted a couple of our own too. Many of you will remember Hotter-N-Hell. That was our creation, and after 12 very good years and one very bad year, we retired HNH in 2008. Attempting to move the event back to College Station, we were given very bad advice from "trusted friends" and chose the Plaza Hotel as host hotel. Well, The Plaza was horrible. The aging infrastructure, poorly backed staff, and broken promises tainted our last year to be sure. The building, by the way, was recently imploded! We thank all that attended over the years, but as one door closes, another one opens. We are still making good times and great memories, though. We invite one and all to come out and sample what We like to think is true Texas hospitality! Leave your trouble at home and come out and visit us in beautiful Somerville Texas at:
Fort Half Moon and the Half Moon Saloon

Fort Half Moon you say?
Whether you come to the Somerville area for business, to attend training at nearby Texas A&M, or to fish or boat on beautiful Lake Somerville, Fort Half Moon is an excellent place to stay! We offer four single-bed standard rooms, two double-double bed rooms, a single-queen bed room, and a single-king suite. Located in the middle of the Post Oak Savannah that makes the Brazos Valley, we are minutes from Lake Somerville, Kyle Field, Blue Bell Ice Creamery, Washington on the Brazos, The George Bush Library, Messina Hof Winery- all but a few minutes drive from your peaceful and quiet room.

But do you still ride?
I have heard recently that I was dead... Well, I heard it, so I guess I am not. I have always been a mobile kind of guy, with my job taking me all over the nation. When my Father died in 2002, my mom was left alone and in poor health. I abandoned my career and Lil' & I bought Fort Half Moon, a small hotel/ bar/ campground just north of Big Creek Park (Dawgs on Hawgs site). This way I could make a living (?) in one spot. We cared for Mom, ran our business, and rarely found time to venture out. God called Mom home in 2010, and for some time I was simply devastated. Thank God my Baby stuck with me and helped me through, because I have emerged from one of the darkest segments of my life. I don't get to ride as much as I used to. I am still involved in several rallies such as The Texas Rally, Carts, Bikers, and Babes, Republic of Texas Biker Rally, and Johnson City Pig Roast. I still support Run for Wheels and Hawgs of Texas, but am not actively a staffer in either.
If you want to talk to me about an event at The Fort, want me to come write about your event, have a question, whatever... contact me at: Buda or call me at 979-204-1690
